Welcome to the Taunton Chess Club Website
Since 1904 we have been meeting in and around Taunton to play chess.We have about 19 members varying in Grade from191 to 35 and therefore are able to cater for all levels of experience.We currently enter one team in each of the Somerset West Chess leagues in Divisions 1, 2 and 3. For the last 2 seasons our Division One team have been the champions and in 2010/11 we won the Somerset cup for the first time in our history.
We also have an internal club tournament. This year it is a six round Swiss, with one round being played in each month.
We play at Taunton School (Room M4) every Tuesday from 7.30pm.
