The 3rd round finished today with the last game
of the round: Wilson – Littlejohns. Dave won the game but again Nick put
up a great fight and played quite well. The surprise result is perhaps
the win of Stephen Smith against Michael Watson and Mike Ward won against
Dave Graham. The other results were more or less expected.

Rules for the tournament.
1. Rate of play is 35 moves in 75 minutes then 15 mins. to
finish.
2. Games to be played by or, on the last Tues. within the timeframe provided
by the controller.
3. Results to be notified to controller (MWR) after the game either via
email or phone (07532 305500) or in person.
4. Games can be played outside the club by agreement subject to rule 3.
5. All games will be submitted for grading at the end of the season.
6. The white player has to make contact and initiate the
game.
The
4th round finishes on 28th February 2012. All results
have to be reported by this date.

Ok, 2nd round has now been completed. We had
to wait for Stan and Jerry to finish as they were kicked out last week
by the caretaker and only managed to finish their game last night. When
you look at the results two ‘surprise’ results: Terry drew with Dave,
which in my opinion was actually expected!!! The other ‘surprised’ result
is my draw against Nick. How I did not win that game I will never know.
But it was a good game just with the wrong result for me. But fair play
to Nick he hang on in there and got the result.
There are only two players on 2/2 and they face each other
in the next round.
